Hartbeeps Album Pencilled In

Snappy title, I know.....

I've been working with Hartbeeps -a Watford based company running music and movement sessions for early years kids and their parents - for about a year now. The work involves writing new songs to include in the sessions, and re-vamping old nursery rhymes to give them a modern vibe. And now there's a cd planned, with recording set to begin in May. Vocals and voice-over work will be provided by Sophia Kent, and it's hoped to be finished by June, and ready for sale on CD Baby sometime in the summer!

Defining genres

I've been working on a track for a promo where the brief was British dance meets dreamy Bacharach. Luckily the editor had been working to a temp track which was just this, so there was a common point of reference, but it's nonetheless a tricky nail to hit. First draft is with him now, so I'll find out soon enough if I hit it or not....

Small World

I was at the Screen Yorkshire networking event a few days ago, talking to a line manager. Jingle Jangle

I've been asked to pitch for an 'imaging package' for a new radio station. Can't say who, but now everything I see is getting turned into a jingle....

It's tricky trying to work out what the client wants, and get that message across in 10 seconds or less, but it's got to be done by Friday (or in my case Thursday). If I get the gig the upside is it'll be plenty of work. The downside is I'll forever see my life as a series of short musical exclamations....
